UMA Certificate Requirements:

• Minimum 50% of the required courses taken through UMA 
• Minimum 2.00 G.P.A. in the Certificate

Admission Requirements:

• General understanding of probability (MAT 115 or equivalent recommended)
• Basic computer literacy and comfortability

• CIS 110 - Programming Fundamentals 3 CR
• CIS 150 - Introduction to Data Science 3 CR
• CIS 325 - Introduction to Machine Learning 3 CR

• DSC 325 - Introduction to Machine Learning 3 CR
• CIS 454 - AI and Advanced Python 3 CR

• OR

• DSC 454 - AI and Advanced Python 3 CR

• Choose one of the following:

• CIS 460 - Computing, Ethics and Culture 3 CR
• PHI 450 - Ethics of Data Analysis and Representation 3 CR

• OR

• PHI 550 - Ethics of Data Analysis and Representation 3 CR

Notes:

A student enrolled in a UMA degree program enrolling in this certificate should take MAT 115  and either CIS 101  or CIS 103 .
