General Education:
It is the intention of the University of Maine at Augusta that every degree graduate will be prepared to function in our society as an effective and informed citizen. To this end, the faculty has designed a set of minimum expectations that students are expected to satisfy. The aspirations are defined by core skills, competencies, and abilities as well as knowledge based learning experiences that are the grounds for the General Education Requirements. To learn more, visit www.uma.edu/academics/general-education/ Advising Note:
All ILS Program Major Requirements must be passed with a C (2.0) or higher. This means that an ILS student earning a grade of C- or lower in a Program Major course class must re-take that course. All non-ILS courses are available through UMA or the University of Maine System. If a student elects to take a non-ILS course outside of UMA course selection needs to be approved prior to registration. Course descriptions, syllabi, or statement of learning outcomes of the courses will be necessary for the approval process. For purposes of comparison, UMA course descriptions are available online at: http://www.uma.edu/academics/courseguid/. Students are encouraged to contact their faculty advisor and the Advising Center for academic advising and support services throughout their stay at UMA. |
