GIS 400 Geographic Information Systems II (4) UMM

SIE 512 Spatial Analysis (3) UM

Complete two of the following (6-8)

CIS 218 - Introduction to SQL (3)
CIS 255 - Database Design (3)
CIS 352 - Data Visualization (3)
CIS 355 - Introduction to Sensors (3)
CIS 449 - Introduction to R Programming and Data Analysis (3)
DSC 561 - Spatio-Temporal Information Science (3)
Any geospatial course at any UMS institution (3-4) can be repeated as an option

Advising Notes

To complete this minor, a student is required to take at least one course through USM, UMM, or UM. These courses are available online and require the equivalent of UMA’s CIS 360 for entry to course. The Maine Geospatial Institute (MGI) maintains a list of offerings each semester that may be used to satisfy elective requirements.

A student with prior transcripts that transfers to UMA may be able to substitute courses at prior institutions if it can be demonstrated that the course is within the broader geospatial context. This will be approved and decided by the program coordinator.
