AME 440 - The Cultural Politics of Trauma

3 CR

This course explores lineages of healing justice-racialized and intergenerational trauma as well as collective and complex trauma-and the intersection of the personal/political and individual/collective in struggles for embodied social justice. We will consider what it takes to heal trauma and transform cultural paradigms, and why we must. We will also examine/imagine/create/enact cultural tactics for individual and collective healing through mind/body/spirit practices. (This course is cross-listed with INT 440 /WGS 440 ).

Prerequisite(s): any AME, INT, or WGS course OR permission of instructor.
