ISS 460 - Law and Critical Thinking in Cybersecurity3 CR
This course explores the ethical, legal, and societal challenges facing cybersecurity professionals through the lens of critical thinking and ethical reasoning. Students will examine contemporary cybersecurity dilemmas-such as surveillance, data privacy, cybercrime, and digital warfare-using multiple ethical frameworks and structured analysis tools. Emphasis is placed on distinguishing facts from opinions, evaluating sources, recognizing logical fallacies and biases, and constructing well-supported arguments. Through case studies, debates, journaling, and collaborative policy development, students will prepare to navigate the complex moral and legal landscape of cybersecurity practice.
Prerequisite(s): ISS 210 and completion of 36 credit hours in Cybersecurity.
