DSC 225 - Introduction to Health Informatics

This course introduces students to health informatics, focusing on the integration of technology in healthcare. Students will use productivity tools to analyze, visualize, and present data, apply communication technologies effectively, and practice secure methods for protecting patient information. Topics include electronic health records, clinical decision support, system design, and ethical considerations of eHealth and emerging technologies. Students will also learn to navigate and evaluate online information sources, apply problem-solving strategies to complex healthcare challenges, and assess the impact of technology in an evolving healthcare environment. (This course is cross listed with CIS 225 and NUR 225.)
