ENG 363W - Maine Poet Laureates: Poetry of Place and Purpose

In ENG 363W, students will read the work of Maine’s six poet laureates and use their poetry as prompts for their own creative explorations. All these poets’ work reflects upon their sense of place, their relationship to the landscape, their purpose in being in their chosen place. We will consider their work as poetic models and consider our own relationship to place and how we inhabit it.
