Bachelor’s Degree Requirements:


  • Associate Degree in one of the following areas from a regionally accredited institution: A Health Science (Nursing, Physical Therapy, Radiological Technology, etc.), Criminal Justice or Justice Studies, Computer Technology, Social or Human Services, Paralegal Studies, or Fire Science
  • Minimum 121 Credit Hours
  • Writing Intensive Course
  • Minimum Cumulative G.P.A.: 2.00
  • 30 Credit Hours of Residency Courses
  • 9 Credits of Upper-Level Major Residency Courses
  • Minimum G.P.A. in the Major: 2.00

Baccalaureate General Education Requirements:


​This sections is waived for those who hold a prior bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution.

All students receiving a baccalaureate degree from UMA must satisfy the institution’s baccalaureate general education requirements. Some of these requirements are met by the program major requirements below. The remaining requirements are listed here. They must be satisfied by the associate degree coursework, or by additional courses.

  • 3 CR
  • Complete any 100-level Communications elective 3 CR
  • Any 100-level Laboratory Science course 4 CR

Complete one of the following Computer Information Systems courses (3):


Complete one of the following Fine Arts electives (3):


Complete two of the following Humanities electives (6):
