WGS 349 - Female Body in Western Culture3 CR
In this course, students examine historical and contemporary constructions of the female body in medicine and science, in law, in media, in literature, and in sports culture to become more astute cultural critics; to better understand the political, personal, intellectual, and social ramifications of dominant constructions of the female body; and to analyze challenges to these constructions in literature, the arts, and in everyday embodied practices. This course is cross-listed with INT 349 .
Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 .
