DSC 325 - Introduction to Machine Learning3 CR
Machine Learning is the computational brain behind data science. Data science professionals require an understanding of these techniques to effectively choose the best approach to solving problems. For the IT professional, knowledge of Machine Learning is also rapidly becoming a core expectation as the marketplace adopts these techniques to build & improve product offerings across a wide breadth of business solutions. This course will present a foundational overview of Machine Learning, covering topics such as supervised & unsupervised learning, data preparation, decision trees, nearest neighbor classifiers, clustering, and neural networks. (This course is cross listed with CIS 325 )
Prerequisite(s): MAT 115 , and either a 200-level programming course (CIS 212 , CIS 214 , CIS 215 , CIS 216 , CIS 449 ) or (CIS 110 and CIS 120 )
