WGS 101W - Introduction to Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies3 CR
Introduces the scholarship and interdisciplinary nature of the evolving field of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Explores foundational concepts like: the social construction of gender; the personal as political; the past and present gender roles of individuals in family, society, culture, and politics; feminism as a diverse set of philosophies; representations of gender in arts and culture; and feminist movements for social justice.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 or permission of instructor.
