Prerequisites:
To assure success, students should fulfill the prerequisite courses before the requirements.
Minor Requirements (18 credit hours):
Complete one of the following survey courses
Select one of the following Pathways:
- No Concentration (12):
- Complete three upper-level (300-400) English electives
- Complete one of the following Cultural Diversity electives:
- Cultural Studies Concentration (12):
- Complete two of the following introductory courses:
- Complete any two of the following:
- AME 3xx/4xx any 300-level or higher American Studies Course
- ENG 3xx/4xx any 300-level or higher English course
- HGH 3xx any 300-level Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Studies course
- HTY 3xx/4xx any 300-level or higher History course
- HUM 3xx any 300-level Humanities course
- INT 3xx/4xx any 300-level or higher Interdisciplinary Studies course
- SOC 370 - Sociology of Culture
- WGS 3xx/4xx any 300-level or high Women and Gender Studies course
- Writing Concentration (12):
- Complete four from the following, at least three must be 300-level or higher:
Advising Notes:
- A minimum of 25% of the credits required for a minor needs to be earned at UMA for it to be awarded.
- A student may be awarded any minor as long as no more than six credits of the minor can be used to fulfill the requirements of the student’s major or concentration.
