HUS 371 - Insight, Compassion & Empathy for the Helping Professions

This course explores the use of the self in the development of professional insight, compassion and empathy. Use of self will be explored in the helping relationship by means of engagement with a variety of different therapeutic activities. Emphasis is placed on the in-depth exploration of therapeutic activity applications, assessments and resources within the helping professions. Students will collaborate with peers, engage with area practitioners, and complete assignments created to enhance learning of the course objectives.

Prerequisite(s): HUS 101 or PSY 100.
