DEA 204 - Dental Assisting Radiology Laboratory

This course reinforces the radiology lecture content and provides the student with laboratory, pre-clinical and clinical practice in exposing radiographs and developing proficiency with intraoral and extraoral radiographic techniques. It also reinforces identifying normal radiographic anatomy and indications of abnormality or disease. The principles of radiation hazards and safety are emphasized and practiced.
Note: this course includes experiences as a partner patient. Students will receive instructional skills as a patient and as a clinician.

Prerequisite(s): Acceptance to the dental assisting program.
Co-requisite(s): DEA 201 or DEH 201 and DEH 203.
