AME 308W - Political Investigation

3 CR

This course in political sociology develops skill in social science research for use in political investigation. We begin with historical examples of lone wolves, muckrakers, and whistleblowers who used research to alter the terms of debate and spark political change. We then develop skill in obtaining, combining, analyzing, and describing public secondary data to assess social conditions, uncover uncomfortable truths, and advocate for change. (This course is cross-listed with POS 308W  and SOC 308W )

Prerequisite(s): ENG 101  and (SOC 101 , SOC 201 , POS 101 , or POS 234 ).
