PHI 450 - Ethics of Data Analysis and Representation

Social organizations increasingly rely upon data collection, aggregation, analysis and representation. This course analyzes the ethics of these activities through case studies and argument, introducing students to different ethical approaches. It studies various ethical principles, such as privacy, autonomy, and trust. It will increase students’ understanding of various organizations and interests that are engaged in the work of data analysis and representation, and how to minimize harm.

Prerequisite(s): 60 hours of credit or PHIXXX.
