HTY 103 - United States History I

3 CR

This introductory course examines the social history of the United States from European contact to 1877. It focuses on broad themes, including immigration, race and ethnicity, war, social and political movements, religion, and popular culture. Students will study both history–meaning things that happened in the past–and historical analysis–meaning how those past events are interpreted and put into context by the modern historian.

Prerequisite(s): ENG 101 .
