ENG 203W - Survey of British Literature II: Romantics to the 20th Century

A survey of representative British texts from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, this course introduces students to the significant literary movements of the period. In addition to analysis of texts, authors, and movements, students will closely examine the historical and cultural contexts of the works as well as their aesthetic dimensions, thematic issues, and rhetorical strategies, cultural diversities, with particular attention to contemporary social issues.
