HUS 335 - Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counseling within Diverse Populations

This course is designed to familiarize students with diagnostic and counseling strategies which focus on the substance use disorder treatment needs of adolescents, older adults, persons with mental illness, and persons with developmental disabilities. Cultural competencies and interventions are explored. Both group and individual counseling techniques will be taught including methods for recovery and relapse prevention and rehabilitation. This course content is based off of a prior course called Addiction: Diversity and Rehabilitation.

Prerequisite or Co-requisite: HUS 125  or permission from the instructor.
